Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium)

I'm a native to North America but not to NY. You should use me in home gardens but not restoration projects.

I'm an interesting and quirky plant and am known for my bristly flower heads.

I resemble a yucca plant.

I have a sturdy taproot, so I don't transplant well

I'm very drought tolerant.

I wide variety of pollinators are attracted to my flowers.

My common name comes from herbalists and some Native Americans using my roots as an antidote for snake bites.

I'm a host plant for the Black Swallowtail butterfly.
