  • I’m native to New York state and Tompkins County, NY

    I’m a warm season grass.

Some people call me turkey foot because of my three finger like blooms

I’m lovely in a garden that can take my larger height. I’m the host plant for the Argos Skipper.

My foliage changes colors over the season to add interest to the garden.

    •Spring: Gray-blue-green

    •Summer: Green with red tinges

•Fall: Reddish bronze-with lavender tinges after frost

I grow through rhizomes to create colonies, but in most soils I establish slowly.
