  • I'm native to NY state and to Tompkins County,NY

I like full sun and really wet conditions.

I spread by rhizomes to form colonies. If you don't want me to spread you can plant me in containers.

I flower all summer and into the fall.

My seeds are edilble. You can eat them fresh or dry them for later.

Young leaves can be used in salads.

Dragonflies and damselflies lay their eggs on my plant stems near the water.

Fish like to hang out in my foliage.

Butterflies are attracted to my flowers.
