  • I'm native to NA but not NY state. I should be planted in gardens, but not in wild spaces. 

    I'm a clump forming perennial.

    I bloom from late summer to early fall.

    I'm a lovely color addition to the yellow early fall bloomers.

    My aromatic smell when brushed against repels deer and rabbits. 

    I like to grow in dry sites and may flop when planted in too rich soils.

    Bees like to overwinter in my dry hollow stems.

    I'm the host plant for the Hermit Sphinx moth.
