  • I’m native to NY state and Tompkins County

I'm a deciduous conifer, which means I drop my needles in the fall.

My needles turn from green to a showy yellow before dropping them in the fall.

I produce beautiful rosy pink cones.

I like to grow in wet and boggy areas, but I can tolerate less wet areas along as moisture is consistent.

My seeds are enjoyed by crossbills and my buds are eaten by spruce grouse.

I'm the larval host plant for the Columbia silkmoth (Hyalophora columbia).
