Silky Dogwood (Cornus amomum)

I’m native to NY state and Tompkins County

I'm best when grown in rich and consistently moist soils. I"m found in nature in wet swampy areas and along lakes and streams. 

I will sucker, but you can use a spade to trim my roots to keep my from traveling too far. 

My berries turn from white to blue by late summer

I have fragrant flowers in the spring. which attract pollinators. 

My leaves in the fall are a burgundy 

My fruits are whitish with a blue tinge and are very attractive to birds.
