I’m a native of New York state and Tompkins County.

I prefer moist, boggy ground along streams and slopes. I do well in shady water or rain gardens and also in woodland gardens.

My common name refers to the cinnamon colored fibers at my frond bases.

Fuzz on my young fiddleheads are used by birds to line their nests.

I turn at attractive yellow in the fall.
